AFCON AFCON 2023 Qualifier: Super Eagles Arrives Guinea-Bissau

The Super Eagles delegation has arrived in Bissau in good time for Monday’s AFCON 2023 qualifier against Guinea Bissau’s Wild Dogs.

The Super Eagles, who flew out of Abuja on Sunday morning, landed at Guinea Bissau’s Aeroporto Internacional Osvaldo Vieira in the afternoon.

After passport formalities in the arrival lounge, the Super Eagles party was quickly booked into their hotel.

Recall that the three-time AFCON winners were defeated by the Wild Dogs in the first leg of the AFCON 2023 qualifier at the Moshood Abiola Stadium on Friday.

Mama Samba Balde broke the tie for Djurtus at the half-hour mark, capitalizing on a lob pass from his captain to score the game’s only goal.

With the win, the Wild Dogs moved ahead of the Super Eagles in Group A, with 7 points from two wins and a tie, while Nigeria is second with 6 points from two wins and a defeat from the same number of games.

The Super Eagles will play Guinea Bissau in a must-win game at the Estádio 24 de Setembro, hoping to make apologies by defeating the Wild Dogs and retaining the group’s top spot.
