South Africa are back to the Africa Cup of Nations as they defeated Liberia 2-1 on Tuesday afternoon to qualifiy for AFCON 2023 to be held in Ivory Coast.

The Bafana needed to win after their controversila 2-2 draw at home four days ago for the first leg of their encounter against Liberia.

And Hugo Broos’ men delivered what was required in Paynesville by scoring twice while conceding once.

Orlando Pirates forward Zakhele Lepasa oepened the scoring in the 19th minute.

However, Liberia managed to equalized before the break thanks to Wilian jebor.

But Percy Tau and teammates gave it all and netted the ultimate goal as Limassol star Mihlali Mayambela made it 2-1 in the 53rd minute.

With Zimbabwe being suspended, Bafana Bafana are qualified with 4 points alongside Morocco which top Group K with 6 points.
