Nigeria Premier League NPFL: Ilechukwu Plots Bendel Insurance Downfall Ahead Sunday Match

Plateau United head coach Fidelis Ilechukwu has stated that his team will end Bendel Insurance’s unbeaten streak in their Nigeria Professional Football League NPFL match-day 12 at the Jos New Stadium on Sunday.

Bendel Insurance, the Group A table toppers, have not to drop a match this season and will travel to Plateau United in their next match.

While responding to queries following his team’s 2-3 loss to 3SC in Match-day 11 in Ibadan, Ilechukwu stated that beating Bendel Insurance would not be a problem.

He stated that he will employ the same strategies that helped Plateau United end Rivers United’s 14-match unbeaten streak last season.

“It’s 100% possible to take revenge on Bendel Insurance.

” Last season Rivers were 14 games unbeaten coming to Plateau United but we beat them.

“So, that one is not a problem.

The most important thing is to psyche the team up, but we will beat Insurance on Sunday.” He said.

Despite his club sliding to fifth on the log, the former MFM FC of Lagos coach is certain that Plateau United will finish among the top three teams for Super 6.

“We have a lot of advantage to finish in the top three this season.”

He was upset not to pick at least one point in their 3-2 loss to 3SC in Ibadan on Wednesday, but he insisted that the faults that led to the loss would be remedied before the next game.

“We believe that we will come here and go home with something but at the end of the day we didn’t.

“That’s football. Now we are working for the next game.

“With Remo win in Maiduguri, it’s going to be a very tough one for us to make the top three for Super 6 but in football anything can happen.

“We have to look at what we have to do in terms of our defense line and goalkeeping.

“The errors are too much in this game but we really need to work hard to be in top three after this game.”

Bendel Insurance leads the table with 25 points, followed by Remo Stars with 20 points.

Former champions Akwa United, Enyimba International, and Plateau United are third, fourth, and fifth on the log, with 19, 18, and points.

With 8 and 5 points, respectively, Nasarawa United and El-kanemi Warriors are in the relegation zone.
