Nigeria Falconets To Face Ghana In WAFU B U20 Maiden Nations Cup

The Falconets, Nigeria’s U20 women’s national team, will compete in the inaugural WAFU B Nations Cup, which will be hosted by Ghana.

The U20 regional age-grade competition will take place from May 20th to June 4th, 2023.

The West African Football Union Zone B will organize the tournament, which will feature seven countries competing for the title.

Aside from Nigeria, the other countries involved are Ghana, Niger, Benin, Ivory Coast, Togo, and Burkina Faso.

The venues for the competition are the Baba Yara Sports Stadium and the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex.

The West African Football Union Zone B Secretariat has also unveiled the event’s logo.

The WAFU U20 Women’s Cup is a women’s association football competition open to all West African Football Union national teams.

The first edition, with eleven teams, was supposed to take place in 2022, but it was postponed.

It was also scheduled for November 2021, but it was pushed back until May 2023.

The Falconets, Nigeria’s women’s national under-20 team, have a long history of international success.

The team had qualified for every edition of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup and had finished runners-up twice, both times to Germany, in 2010 and 2014.

They were also quarterfinalists in the FIFA World Cup 2022.

The Falconets have won the African U-20 World Cup qualification championship and qualified for the World Cup ten times, the most recent being in 2022.

The Falconets also won gold in the football competition at the 2019 African Games.

Nigeria’s participation in the Women’s U-20 Cup of Nations will undoubtedly be a tournament highlight, given the country’s rich history in women’s football.

Fans will be watching with bated breath as they attempt to add another trophy to their already impressive collection.
