The Gabonese U23 team has been disqualified from competing in the 2018 African Cup of Nations owing to player age fraud, according to the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
The Junior Panthers won the qualifier’s championship game against the U23 Indomitable Lions and earned a spot in the match.
The Federation of Cameroon Football (FECAFOOT) objected to Floriss Djave’s age, claiming that the player was in possession of passports with multiple expiration dates.

After considering the situation, the football governing body decided to exclude Gabon from the match on Wednesday.
As a result of the ruling, Cameroon will take Gabon’s position in the tournament that will take place in Morocco in July.
However, Gabon will have a chance to challenge the ruling in the coming days.
