Gift Orban scored a brace as Gent held Cercle Brugge to a 2-2 darw in the Belgian play-offs on Saturday to secure qualification to the Europa Conference League next season.
Since signing with Gent in January 2023, Orban has scored 15 goals in league play.
He scored nine goals during the regular league season, but just six in four playoff matches.
In six games this season in the Europa Conference League, the 20-year-old scored five goals.
With two games remaining, Gent finished first in the four-team play-offs standings thanks to the draw against Cercle Brugge.
In the game on Saturday, Kevin Denkey’s opening goal for Cercle Brugge was cancelled out by Orban’s goal in the 49th minute.
Ayase Ueda gave Cercle Brugge a 2-1 lead with 20 minutes remaining, and Hugo Cuypers tied the score on 85.
