The National Trials for the World Athletics Championships, which were originally planned to take place between July 6 and July 9, have been postponed by the Athletics Federation of Nigeria AFN.

The National Athletics Center in Budapest, Hungary is where the 2023 World Athletics Championships, the nineteenth edition of the World Athletics Championships, will take place from August 19 to August 27, 2023.

The event has been scheduled to take place between July 5 and July 7 at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Edo State, according to a letter from the AFN dated June 27, 2023 and signed by the general secretary Rita Mosindi.

The National Trials would be held strictly in accordance with World Athletics rules and regulations, it was added.
