Following the last game on Saturday night in Rabat, Ibrahim Adel, the captain of the Egypt U23 team, was voted the Best Player of the TotalEnegies U23 Africa Cup of Nations, Morocco 2023.
The captain of the Baby Pharaohs was one of several athletes to receive personal honours following the conclusion of the TotalEnergies CAF 2023, the fourth iteration of the U-23 Africa Cup of Nations.
At the Prince Moulay Abdellah Complex in Rabat on Saturday, hosts Morocco defeated Egypt 2-1 (AET) to win the tournament on home soil.

Many players displayed exceptional performances, and the Technical Study Group of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) honoured some of them.
Abdessamad Ezzalzouli, who led all scorers at the U-23 Africa Cup of Nations TotalEnergies 2023, was one of them. The Moroccan striker won the competition’s Umbro Golden Boot with three goals.

The winger for FC Barcelona showed off his tournament-long goal-scoring prowess. It is noteworthy that no one has managed to beat Nigerian Oghenekaro Etebo’s record of five goals since 2015.
The youthful Pharaohs’ captain, Ibrahim Adel, was awarded the competition’s top player. The silver medalist was honoured for his outstanding efforts, which led Egypt to the championship game.
Adel’s team’s success was greatly aided by his control of the midfield and his ability to create plays.
