Randy Waldrum

Nigeria Super Falcons coach Randy Waldrum hit back to critics following his team’s 3-2 victory over 2023 Women’s World Cup co-host Australia on Thursday.

There were a lot of problems and rumors surrounding the Super Falcons before they left for the World Cup.

Randy Waldrum even revealed he received only 7 months of pay despite 14 months of unpaid salaries and some players are yet to receive their bonus from the USA Tour in 2021.

However, this does not prevent the team to be focused on their goal which is to represent Nigeria with their heart and all they have.

And the results are now silencing the critics as Super Falcons earned 4 points out of 2 games and are closer than ever to the round of 16.

Speaking after the win over Australia, Waldrum did not hold back over what is happening around the national team.

“I think they are still singing and dancing in there (the dressing room) now”, he joked first in post-match press conference.

I can’t get in there to get in a word.

“So many people didn’t believe in them, didn’t believe in me”, he added.
