Racing Louisville forward Thembi Kgatlana will be remembered as the one who scored the goal which sent South Africa to a Women’s World Cup round of 16 for the first time in history.
The 27-year old made a deep run into the box and converted a timely assist from Hildah Magaia he assisted for the second goal, to net the winner against Italy.
That is probably the most important goal of his career for the moment and for South Africa in Women’s football history.
