Nigerian Players abroad Awoniyi Wins Forest Player Of The Month Award For August

Taiwo Awoniyi of Nottingham Forest and the Super Eagles won the team’s Player of the Month and Goal of the Month honours for August 2023.

Despite having difficulty staying healthy, the Super Eagles striker excelled for the Tricky Trees in August.

With six goals in his final four games for Nottingham to help them avoid relegation, Awoniyi had an outstanding finish to the 2022–23 season.

The 26-year-old hitman commenced the campaign in a similar manner this season.

Due to fitness concerns, the Super Eagles attacker was not given the opportunity to start Nottingham Forest’s season opener against Arsenal. He came off the bench, nevertheless, to give them a 2-1 victory with a goal of consolation.

Then, in their 2-1 triumph over Sheffield United, he added another goal.

Then, against Manchester United, he scored, but it was insufficient as they fell short 3-2.

Awoniyi has been named August’s Player of the Month as a result of his outstanding accomplishments.

Due to his goal against Manchester United, he was also awarded Goal of the Month.

Awoniyi scored in the Super Eagles’ 6-0 victory over Sao Tome and Principe on Sunday, continuing his impressive form.

The following Monday, Nottingham Forest play Burnley in their first match following the international friendly, and Awoniyi will try to maintain his excellent form against the Clarets.
