While winless Luton remains at the bottom of the rankings with a game remaining, Fulham did enough to move up to ninth.

Fulham controlled possession in the first half after a minute of silence was observed for former club owner Mohamed Al-Fayed, who passed away last month. However, the home team had little to show for it, as Luton came the closest to scoring first.

Tahith Chong of Luton was stopped in her tracks after making a solo move, and Carlton Morris volleyed narrowly wide before Jacob Brown’s header struck the crossbar.
Three minutes into the second half, Amari’i Bell nearly gave Luton the lead after latching onto a cross from Brown. However, his side-footed volley lacked enough force, and Bernd Leno easily saved it.

Just after the hour mark, Fulham manager Marco Silva substituted Vinicius as the home crowd began to lose patience.

The Brazilian forward had an immediate impact as he pounced on custodian Thomas Kaminski’s slip for a tap-in.

The 28-year-old Tom Lockyer, a centre back and captain for Luton, was up forward during the closing minutes and found room for a free header but missed the goal.
