Napoli Osimhen Misses Penalty As Bologna Hold Napoli To A Draw

The Serie A champions were held to a 0-0 draw at Bologna on Sunday as Napoli’s disappointing start to the season continued. Victor Osimhen missed the penalty.

In the 72nd minute, the Nigerian striker missed his penalty after Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s pass was deflected off the arm of replacement Riccardo Calafiori.

The defending champions are mired in seventh position in the rankings and behind league leaders Inter Milan by seven points following a run of two victories, one loss, and two draws.

Bologna is ranked eleventh with six points.

Osimhen squandered an opportunity to give Napoli the lead in the fifth minute of the first half when he hit the post.

Kvaratskhelia missed a follow-up opportunity as he rolled the rebound from a tight angle.

Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa of Napoli used his arm to prevent a Bologna shot in the penalty area during the dramatic conclusion.

The referee first gave a penalty but then changed his mind after realising an earlier infraction.
