In the second round of the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations WAFCON, Nigeria’s Super Falcons will play Cape Verde.

Following Cape Verde’s two-legged victory over Liberia to advance to the final round of qualification, the pairing was decided.

Tuesday’s first-round match in Monrovia saw Cape Verde prevail 3-2.

To advance 6-2 overall, Cape Verde had won the first leg 3-0.

After winning a walkover against SaIn neo Tomé and Principe, who withdrew before the first leg, the Super Falcons did not compete in the first round qualifiers.

The Super Falcons and Cape Verde team that wins this match advances to the 2024 WAFCON in Morocco.

The Super Falcons placed fourth at the 2022 WAFCON, which was also hosted in Morocco.

At this year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup, the nine-time African champions succumbed to England on penalties in the round of 16.
