
Muhoroni Youth have been slapped with sanctions by the Football Kenya Federation (FKF’s) Leagues and Competitions Committee following the abandonment of their league match against KCB at Muhoroni Stadium
The matchday six fixture was abandoned after Muhoroni fans allegedly invaded the pitch and attacked the Bankers’ technical bench during stoppage time with the visitors leading 1-0 courtesy of Haniff Wesonga’s strike in the first half.
According to the league’s competitions committee, Muhoroni lost the game 2-0 to the Bankers and fined Ksh300,000 for the fracas that ensued during the match. The club was also ordered to play their next matches away from Muhoroni Stadium and play the next five matches in an empty stadium.
The fifth punishment affected the club chairman Moses Adagala, who has been banned from attending the club’s next three matches. The matches include – against Kariobangi Sharks on October 22, against promoted Murang’a Seal FC on October 28, and against Kakamega Homeboyz on November 1.
