Nigeria Premier League NPFL: Akwa United Relocates To Eket Stadium Temporarily

According to the update from Uyo, Akwa United’s management has chosen to move their regular-season home games to the Eket Stadium temporarily for their Nigeria Premier Football League NPFL games.

The Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo has been used as the Promise Keepers’ home pitch ever since it was finished.

However, the club management made the decision on Monday to move forward with having their home games played at the recently refurbished Eket Township Stadium.

The reported justification is that the Stadium will host upcoming international matches beginning this weekend.

Godswill Akpabio Stadium will also serve as the home of Enyimba International and Rivers United, who will compete in the African Football League and CAF Confederation Cup, respectively, in addition to hosting the Super Eagles for the next 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier in November.
