
The Nigeria Premier Football League NPFL entered Matchday 4 this week with interesting fixtures including a South west derby between Sporting Lagos and Remo Stars.
There was less goals on Matchday 4 which involved all the teams apart from the game involving Enyimba FC who are playing in the maiden edition of the African Football League.
A total of 10 goals was scored in eight games played with three games ended in a draw.
After defeating Sporting Lagos 2-1 in a tense match on Sunday in Ikenne, Remo Stars ascended to the top of the Nigeria Premier League.

Christian Nwoke, the Sporting Lagos goalie, never previously had a goal allowed to him after four league games.

The same player gave the hard-pressing Remo Stars a chance at a penalty kick in the 49th minute when he handled the ball in his penalty area while under pressure.
To give Remo Stars the victory, Sikiru Alimi made the shot.
Gombe United defeated Bendel Insurance at the Pantami Stadium, while Akwa United is still looking for its first victory following a 0-0 draw with Shooting Stars at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium Uyo.
After a 1-1 tie in Owerri, Katsina United and Heartland FC split the victory. Kano Pillars defeated Rivers United 1-0 at the Sani Abacha stadium, and Rangers International lost 1-0 on the road after holding Kwara United to a 1-1 draw in Ilorin. Both Plateau United and Lobi Stars triumphed at home.
Abia Warriors lost 0-2 to the local team, Lobi Stars, in the Lafia City Stadium as Plateau United only managed to score one goal to earn the maximum three points against Sunshine Stars.
