
Young Africans (Yanga SC) returned to the Mainland Premier League summit after striker Aziz Ki scored a hat-trick against Azam FC at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium on Monday.
The Jangwani-based giants regained command of the Premier League after outclassing the Ice Cream Makers 3-2. The electric match witnessed Stephanie Aziz Ki netting a hat-trick for the defending champions.
Following the triumph, Yanga have amassed 15 points from six games, similar to rivals Simba SC but the former enjoy better goal difference as they have 18 goals against 14 goals scored by the Reds. For Azam, on target were Gibrill Sylla and Prince Dube who fired through a spot-kick. The Chamazi-based side have now conceded their first defeat of the campaign and are third on the log with 13 points in the bag.
Up next, Yanga host Singida Big Stars at Azam Complex on October 29 before facing Simba on November 5. For Azam, they will host Namungo on October 29 before visiting Mashujaa at Lake Tanganyika Stadium in Kigoma on November 2.
