Simba SC registered a 2-1 triumph over Ihefu in a Tanzanian Premier League match at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam on Saturday.
Jean Baleke put the hosts upfront in the 12th minute capitalising on defensive woes by the visitors. But, Ismail Mgunda balanced the scoreboard midway in the first half to put back his team into the contest.
The introduction of Moses Phiri and Luis Miquissone in the second half increased the tempo as the former sliced in the winner in the 65th minute. With the outcome, Simba have collected 18 points from six games, the same as champions Young Africans (Yanga SC) but the latter enjoys the top spot courtesy of goal difference.
Yanga have scored 20 goals against 16 pumped by the Wekundu wa Msimbazi. Simba will now return to action with a derby fixture against Yanga SC on November 5.
