Africa Soccer African Football League Final first leg : Wydad AC edge past Mamelodi Sundowns in Morocco

Wydad Athletic Club won the first leg of the African Football League final 2-1 in Casablanca tonight ahead of Mamelodi Sundowns and the return leg in Pretoria, South Africa next week.

The Reds’ first goal was an own goal from midfielder Rivaldo Coetzee in the 41st minute after a nice breakthrough from Montassir Lahtimi.

In the second half, Sundowns equalized with a penalty from Moroccan defender Abdelmounaim Boutouil in the 74th minute. But the Reds regained the advantage thanks to Anas Serrhat in the 78th.

The two teams will meet next Sunday in South Africa for the second leg of the African Football League final.
