Zambia women’s national team coach Bruce Mwape has named his 26-member provisional squad for the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) second-round back-to-back matches against Angola.
Mwape has a mix of local and foreign-based players with the former entering camp on Sunday, November 19 to prepare for the first leg due on November 29 before hosting Angola on December 5. Apart from Kazakhstan-based players whose league ended last month, the other foreign-based players will join camp when the FIFA women’s international window opens on November 27.
Zambia will be seeking a fourth consecutive appearance at the WAFCON and build on their highest-ever podium finish when they won bronze at the expense of Nigeria at the 2022 WAFCON held in Morocco.
