The Super Falcons of Nigeria dominated Cape Verde by a score of 5-0 in the first leg of the 2024 Women Africa Cup of Nations final qualifying match.
At the MKO Abiola National Stadium in Abuja, Cape Verde suffered their worst defeat in women’s football history at the hands of the Super Falcons, led by Justin Madugu.
The most successful team in Africa has one foot in Morocco going into the second leg with a 5-0 lead thanks to goals from Gift Monday, Uchenna Kanu, and substitute Esther Okoronkwo.
The nine-time champions advanced to this final round of the qualification series before the qualifiers against their Cape Verdian opponents since Sao Tome’s senior girls withdrew from a September second-round match.
On Tuesday, December 5th, in Praia, the second leg will take place.
