After a Wolves corner, West Ham launched a counterattack in the 22nd minute, taking the lead thanks to a pass from Lucas Paqueta into the path of Kudus on the right, who crossed the pitch and scored from outside the area.

The greatest opportunity for the visitors in the first half came in the 28th minute when Matheus Cunha’s effort from the edge of the box forced Lukasz Fabianski to make a diving save.

After four minutes, Paqueta again found Kudus with pinpoint accuracy; the Ghanaian player received the ball in the box and slid his shot past the goalie and into the far corner.

Kudus now has five league goals this season after his brace. On Thursday, the Ghanaian struck again in the Europa League as the Hammers defeated SC Freiburg 2-0 to win their group.

Just before halftime, Jarrod Bowen’s shot from West Ham nearly put the team ahead 3-0. Dan Bentley, the custodian, could only watch helplessly as the ball bounced off the bottom of the post and rebounded out across the goal to safety.

In the 58th minute, Pablo Sarabia appeared to be slightly offside when he tapped in Nelson Semedo’s cross into the goal, giving Wolves hope that they had equalized.

But in the 74th minute, Bowen and Paqueta played a one-two before taking the ball down the right, where Bowen’s effort went across goal and in past the keeper despite being forced wide by Craig Dawson. This sealed the victory for the home team.
