Three days after giving the team a token of Ksh50,000 for Christmas, Shabana FC Patron Sam Nyamweya has announced the FKF Premier League outfit will own a state-of-the-art team bus courtesy of a well-wisher next year.
According to Nyamweya, the team bus will be similar to that of champions Gor Mahia with the team’s current bus being donated to the team’s junior and girls’ team.
“A senior good friend of mine and Shabana has offered to purchase a bus for the team early next year almost similar to that of Gor Mahia. The current bus that the club is using will be deployed for the junior and the girls teams,” said Nyamweya in a signed statement, adding: “Shabana continues to attract support from various stakeholders and individuals from all aspects of society since they joined the FKF league.
“The sponsor of the bus will be unveiled after all formalities have been addressed. This comes as great news for the team as they break for the festive season after Thursday’s game against Bidco United in Thika. I wish the team victory in the match tomorrow [Thursday). I urge Shabana to focus on the league and become giants and restore its former glory.”
In October, Gor Mahia received a 42-seater bus from Cabinet Secretary for IT Eliud Owalo. Tore Bobe are taking part in the top-flight for the first time in 17 years after they won the National Super League (NSL) last year.
They are currently sitting 15th on the 18-team table with 14 points from 15 matches. They have managed three wins, five draws, and seven defeats.
