Enyimba has also been accused of violating the NPFL Framework and Rules due to their inability to provide sufficient security for their matchday 15 match versus Rangers in Aba.
The restricted area of the match officials’ dressing room was breached by unauthorised individuals due to Enyimba’s inadequate security measures.
The Aba Giants broke the rules even more when their supporters and officials harassed the match authorities in their dressing room, a behaviour that may have damaged the reputation of the sport.
Following the game, the referee was harassed and intimidated by Finidi George’s side since they neglected to check that their officials were acting appropriately.
The former African champions were fined N1 million for their failure to maintain general security and keep unauthorised individuals out of restricted areas.
The champions have also been fined N1 million for their misbehaviour and neglect to guarantee the appropriate behaviour of their officials.
Due to his instigating and unsportsmanlike behaviour, Okey Nwabeke, a club official, has been suspended from all NPFL activities for the following three match weeks.
If Enyimba and any of its officials engage in similar behaviour in the future, they run the danger of facing harsher penalties.
The Aba-based club has 48 hours from the notice date to file an appeal against the fines.
