Super Eagles head coach, Jose Peseiro has invited Royal Antwerp midfielder, Alhassan Yusuf to replace injured Wilfred Ndidi ahead of the AFCON 2023 tournament.
Ndidi has been ruled out of the AFCON 2023 due to injury and will miss the competition.
Ndidi missed Leicester City 4-1 win against Huddersfield Town on Monday due to injury and is in race to get fit.
Yusuf, who was on the provisional 41-man list will now take his place in the team.
The 23-year-old is now expected to link up with the team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates on Wednesday (today).
The talented midfielder is yet to be capped by the Super Eagles.
The replacement was also confirmed via the official X handle of the Super Eagles.
The team camp is expected to come alive on Wednesday following the arrival of Peseiro and his assistant to Abu Dhabi on Tuesday.
