Asisat Oshoala

Super Falcons forward Asisat Oshoala came off the bench and scored for Barcelona Femeni as they kicked off 2024 in the best possible way in their 9-1 victory against Levante at Estadi Johan Cruyff on Saturday.

The game got off to the best possible start for the Blaugranes with Salam Paralluelo putting them ahead after just five minutes. The floodgates opened after that with Mariona adding a second from the penalty spot. Before the half-hour was up, Ballon d’Or winner Aitana made it 3-0 in the 28th minute.

Before half time Caroline Graham Hansen got in on the act to make it 4-0 at half time in the Estadi Johan Cruyff. The second half saw the goals continue: Claudia Pina and Patri added one each to make it 6-0 before Levante scored a consolation goal through Allegra.

Late goals from Vicky, Patri again, and Oshoala rounded off a festive win for Jonatan Giráldez’s team.
