Ghana have received a huge boost following the return to training of midfielder Mohammed Kudus ahead of their crunch 2023 Africa Cup of Nations fixture against Egypt.
Kudus, who features for Premier League side West Ham United, missed the Black Stars’ surprising 2-1 defeat to Cape Verde during their Group opener due to a slight knock.
The return to training means he will be in contention to face the Pharaohs in a must win game for the Chris Hughton-led side.
Ghana Football Association (GFA) Communications Director, Henry Asante Twum, revealed Kudus has already joined the full-team training session: “Normally what he does is that after the first 15-20 minutes of training, he joins the physios for his personal training outside of the group.
“Luckily, today [Monday] he trained with the rest of the squad. He stayed in the group training for the whole period. The medical team is still assessing him.“He is back in full team training and I am sure by Wednesday or Thursday he will be fine for that match.”
