Super Eagles trio of Victor Osimhen, Moses Simon and William Troost Ekong have certified free from doping by CAF.
The trio were picked for random Anti-Doping test and have now been cleared free to be part of the Super Eagles team ahead of the AFCON 2023 quarterfinals game against Angola
Victor Osimhen was a key member of the Nigerian Super Eagles throughout both their Round of 16 matchup with Cameroon and their group stage performance in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
According to reports, the test was administered to the Nigerian international after the game against Guinea-Bissau.
The random tests are routine operating procedures that are usually applied to players whose increased energy levels could lead to accusations of drug use.
Furthermore, sources disclosed that two Cameroonian athletes also underwent comparable testing, indicating that Osimhen is not the only competitor in the competition.
In the meantime, Coach Peseiro’s team will play Angola on Friday in the 2023 AFCON quarterfinals.
