Nathan Tella of Bayer Leverkusen scored a goal in each half to lead the Bundesliga leaders to a 2-0 victory at Darmstadt 98 on Saturday.
This victory kept them two points clear of the leaders ahead of their summit matchup with champions Bayern Munich the following week.
Alejandro Grimaldo curled in a cross from the left to the far post and unmarked Tella headed in to give Leverkusen the lead in the 33rd minute.

The visitors had multiple excellent opportunities in the first half, including one for recently signed player Borja Iglesias, and they ought to have scored at least one more goal.
Tella, a Nigerian international, scored his fourth league goal in the 52nd minute, smashing home a shot following a Florian Wirtz layoff to seal the victory.
Leverkusen leads the table with 52 points, two more than Bayern, who defeated Borussia Moenchengladbach 2-1. Leverkusen is still unbeaten in all competitions this season.
