Emerson Fae, the Elephant of Cote d’Ivoire’s acting coach, has acknowledged the potency of Nigeria’s Super Eagles.
Following the humiliating 4-0 loss against Equatorial Guinea, Jean Louis Gasset was fired from his position as manager of the squad, and Fae was promoted to interim manager.
The Elephant has given them new life since taking office in the hopes of winning the African Cup of Nations domestically.
Speaking to Oma Sports TV, Fae acknowledged that the Super Eagles’ teamwork and defensive tenacity were the Nigerians’ greatest assets.
” We have learned a lot since their match against us that they have a defensive solidity and they ( Nigeria) have a team a very united team.
“They defend and attack together and it’s the solidarity that makes that, of course with the individual qualities of the players that they have because they have kinds of quality.
“But on top of that, the block, and the team spirit they have also allowed them to reach the semi-final“, he said.
In the second group game, Nigeria defeated the Ivorians by a single goal.
