Kenya FKF ‘blocks’ presidential aspirant Hussein Mohammed from AGM

Football Kenya Federation (FKF) have turned down a request from Premier League outfit Murang’a Seal to have presidential aspirant Hussein Mohammed as their representative at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) set for Nairobi on Saturday.

In a response to the promoted club signed by FKF CEO Barry Otieno, the federation said after a comprehensive review of the registration documents and other details, Mohammed is ineligible to represent the club.

The letter read in part: “We are in receipt of your correspondence dated March 5, 2024, nominating Hussein Mohammed as Murang’a Seal delegate in the upcoming FKF congress.

“Following a comprehensive review of the registration documents and other details thereof regarding Murang’a Seal submitted in compliance with Article L02 and L03 of the FKF Club lincensing Regulations and Article 54 and 55 of the CAF men’s club lincensing regulations (2022) attached for your reference, we would like to inform you that Hussein Mohammed is nor registered with FKF as a member of Murang’a Seal or FKF general, in accordance with Article 11 of the FKF constitution (2017)and Article 8.1.4 of the FKF regulations governing Kenyan football (2019).”

The statement concluded by saying: “In light of the aforementioned, Hussein Mohammed is therefore ineligible to represent Murang’a Seal in the upcoming FKF Annual General Meeting.”

FKF further faulted Muranga’s request by stating: “Furthermore, it is important to note that based on the documents submitted during the club licensing registration process, Murang’a Seal is formally registered as Murang’a Sports Excellence Academy Limited. Robert Kenneth Wanyoike Macharia is identified as the sole director of the entity, which is duly recognized as Murang’a Seal for FKF activities.”
