Dstv Premiership Mokwena pleased with Sundowns after dispatching Chippa United

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Rhulani Mokwena gave credence to his players and the technical team following their 2-0 Premier League victory against Chippa United at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturday.

It was goals from Teboho Mokoena and Taashriq Matthews, who came in as a substitute in the second stanza, that earned the Brazilians a massive victory in their backyard. Speaking to the media in the post-match press conference, the Masandawana head coach lauded his side for the team effort they displayed in and off the pitch.

“Let me start congratulating the club and everyone involved because today was a very good team effort. I also want to thank the players. It was so easy at the halftime break because before we could say anything, they were already speaking to each other. They were not happy with each other’s contributions in the first half,” said Mokwena.

He added: “It makes the coaching job so much easier because when they demand and hold each other accountable, it’s a lot easier to demand a little bit more from them, so congratulations to them.”

Bafana Ba Style will be looking to continue their dominance when they host Supersport United in a derby delight on Tuesday.
