Olympic Games CAF Accept NFF Request To Shift Super Falcons, Banyana Banyana Game

The Nigeria Football Federation requested that the Confederation of African Football move the Women’s Olympic Football Tournament final qualification match between Nigeria and South Africa’s first leg by one hour, and the Confederation of African Football granted their request.

Concerned by the hot climatic condition in the country at the moment, we wrote to CAF to move the kick-off from 4 pm to 5 pm, in the interest of the players, and they have acceded to our request for the match to commence at 5 pm, at the MKO Abiola National Stadium,” Ruth David, NFF’s Director of Competitions, told thenff.com

The game was originally set to begin at 4 p.m. on Friday, April 5, as the first leg of the match that will decide which of the two teams will represent Africa with one of its two flagbearers at this year’s Women’s Olympic Football Tournament in France.

Additionally, the Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria has been selected by the South African Football Association to host the second leg on Tuesday, April 9. At 7.30 p.m. South African time (6.30 p.m. Nigerian time), the meeting will begin.
