UEFA Champions League Sancho Expresses Gratitude To Dortmund After PSV Win

After Borussia Dortmund defeated PSV Eindhoven 2-0 on Wednesday to advance to the Champions League quarterfinals, Jadon Sancho, who is now on loan, declared that he will always hold a particular place in his heart for the German team.

August 2021 saw Sancho sign a contract to join Manchester United for 85 million euros ($92.97 million) from Dortmund.

However, he was unable to secure a regular role and, after getting into a fight with manager Erik ten Hag, temporarily returned to Germany.

Against Eindhoven, the 23-year-old struck early on and Marco Reus added a goal in the final minutes to secure a 3-1 aggregate victory and a trip to the quarterfinals for the first time in three years.

I’ve always got a special place for Dortmund,” Sancho told TNT Sports.

“This is where I kind of made my name. I’ve got to be grateful to them, but also to my team mates, for believing in me.

“We had the advantage because we’re playing in front of our home fans … From the first whistle to the last, we stuck at our game plan and I’m happy that we got the win.”

On Sunday, Dortmund, who now sit fourth in the Bundesliga, takes on Eintracht Frankfurt.
