Uganda Kitara FC maintain four points lead despite Bul FC draw

Uganda Premier League table leaders, Kitara FC, squandered an opportunity to tear away, and BUL a chance to close in as the two drew goalless on Good Friday.

The draw at Masindi Stadium, Kira’s fifth and BUL’s seventh, moves the leaders to 44 points, four ahead of second-placed BUL with seven matches to go. The result will have been a disappointment for Kitara, who were coming off a 3-0 thrashing of URA.

For BUL, this was a much needed respite after two straight defeats in the league. Elsewhere, third-placed NEC could have joined BUL on 40 points but Wakiso Giants had other ideas, beating them 1-0.

Shariph Kimbowa set up Kenneth Kimera for the winner at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium to move the hosts a place up to 11th on 26 points. This was Wakiso’s second straight victory after winning a five-goal thriller over Express in the Purple Sharks last outing.
