Turkish Super Lig Fenerbahce To Make Vote To Remain Or Leave In Super Lig

The Turkish top division team Fenerbahce’s future is in the balance as they prepare to vote on Tuesday on whether to carry out their threat to leave from the Super Lig.

Fenerbahce declared in March that they would think about leaving the league following an incident in which Trabzonspor supporters attacked some of their players.

Following their team’s 3-2 loss, Trabzonspor supporters invaded the pitch and got into an altercation with Fenerbahce players and security personnel.

This is only the most recent incident in a string of problems plaguing the Turkish league this season.

Tuesday’s Extraordinary General Assembly Meeting of Fenerbahce will see a vote by the club’s members on a motion to remove the team from the league.

After 30 games, Fenerbahce, who won their 19th league title in 2014, is two points behind Galatasaray in the standings.

On Wednesday, they are scheduled to host Adana Demirspor.
