FIFA World Cup Rwanda’s main target is to beat Benin and Lesotho – Gueulette

Rwanda midfielder Samuel Gueulette has said that he and his teammates are going all out for victory in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Benin and Lesotho on June 6 and June 11 respectively.

Gueulette is among 25 players who left Kigali on the wee hours of Monday, June 3, for the qualifying games and is confident that they can pick the six maximum points at stake to cement their position on top of Group C.

“Everything is fine; we are working very hard. Preparations have been good and we are all poised for the game,” Gueulette told Times Sport.

“Our aim is to win both games and maintain our position at the top of the table after this round of games. We Will do everything for the six points and that is our target for the two games.”

Rwanda sit top of Group C after two games having drawn with Zimbabwe and defeated South Africa 2-0 on November 21.

South Africa follow with three points while Nigeria, Lesotho and Zimbabwe have two points each. Benin are at the bottom with one point.
