Uncategorised Inter Milan Targets Okoye As Sommer Replacement

Inter Milan is allegedly in talks to sign Udinese goalkeeper Maduka Okoye. Okoye, 24, is valued at €15 million, which includes bonuses and add-ons.

Nerazzurri seek to sign the Nigerian as a replacement for current first-choice goalkeeper Yann Sommer.

According to Sky Sport Italia’s transfer analyst Gianluca Di Marzio, Okoye is Inter’s top target, with talks underway to finalise a deal this summer.

Although Okoye was not Udinese’s first-choice custodian at beginning, he rose to prominence in the second half of the season and played a critical part in guaranteeing the team’s safety in the Serie A season finale.

The former Watford and Sparta Rotterdam player appeared in 22 Serie A and Coppa Italia games this season, winning man of the match against Juventus.

Inter is currently negotiating a lower asking price of €12 million plus add-ons, and a deal could be reached in the next days. Maduka Okoye, who turns 25 in August, has 16 senior caps for Nigeria and is contracted with Udinese until June 2027.
