Nigeria NFF Finally Accepts Finidi Resignation Letter

The NFF executive committee has finally accepted Finidi George’s resignation as Super Eagles coach.

The NFF apparently refused to accept Finidi’s resignation because the letter was unsigned.

However, the quit notice has been signed and distributed to all members of the executive.

The committee would decide so that the coach might have his wish.

According to, an official declaration on the subject was expected following the Sallah festivities yesterday.

Finidi resigned after the NFF appointed a foreign technical adviser to replace him.

In his letter to NFF president Ibrahim Gusau, he stated that due to changes in the Super Eagles technical staff, which he led and included several people he chose, he has decided to stand down as Super Eagles head coach.

The NFF has declared that they will recruit a new coach before the 2025 AFCON qualifiers, which begin in the first week of September.
