FIFA U17 WORLD CUP Zambia’s Copper Princesses to pitch camp abroad for U17 World Cup

Federation of Zambia Association (FAZ) President Andrew Kamanga has promised to give the U17 proper preparations ahead of the 2024 FIFA World Cup in Dominican Republic.

The Copper Princesses qualified following a 3-1 aggregate win against Morocco. “Away from the grandiose of the FIFA visit, our U17 made us proud by qualifying to the Dominican Republic 2024 FIFA World Cup.

“This adds to our already impressive scorecard that saw the Copper Queens qualify for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris while the Chipolopolo, U17 and U20 boys both qualified for their respective Africa Cup of Nations competitions.

“We will make sure our U17 girls are well prepared for the world cup by affording them quality preparations that include an international camp and friendly matches. It is a standard we have set and intend to sustain for the long haul.

“We have laid out a solid grassroots program that has since started bearing fruits. In the men’s category we have made it a habit to groom boys from U15 level by exposing them to international tournaments which will help them be ready for future national assignments.”
