athletics Amusan Confident Team Nigeria Will Win African Seniors Athletics Championship

Tobi Amusan, the world record holder in the women’s 100m hurdles, and Favour Ofili, the 2024 Nigeria National Trials women’s 100m winner, have promised that Nigerian athletes will represent the country well at the Confederation of African Seniors Athletics Championship in Cameroon.

Recall that the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) published a strong roster of 40 athletes to represent Nigeria in the African Athletics Championship in Cameroon.

Tobi Amusan, Favour Ofili Chukwuebuka Enekwechi, and Chidi Okezie are some of Nigeria’s most prominent figures in Douala.

According to Amusan; “We are Nigerians, and we are going to Douala to show that spirit of ‘we can do it.”

Ofili said: “I am confident we will top the medals table in Douala.”

Approximately 750 athletes from 50 countries are set to compete for medals in 45 events at the six Championships, which began in 1979 in Dakar, Senegal.

Team Nigeria Athletics is in Douala, Cameroon, with 40 athletes (20 male and 20 female) who will compete in 20 events.
