COSAFA Zambia’s Chipolopolo name final squad for COSAFA tournament

Coach Chisi Mbewe has named his 23-man Zambia squad for the 2024 COSAFA Cup set for Gqeberha from June 26-July 7.

Mbewe will lead the Chipolopolo to battle in South Africa after the Under-20 coach was named for the regional assignment.

Chipolopolo will open their Group B campaign with a match against guests Kenya on 27 June at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium before entertaining arch-rivals Zimbabwe in a Group B tussle at Wolfson stadium on 30 June. Their final group involvement will be against Comoros on 2 July.

Defenders; Mathews Chabala (ZESCO United), Killian Kanguluma (Kabwe Warriors), Chitoshi Chinga, Mathews Banda (both Nkana FC), Brian Chilimina (Red Arrows), John Chishimba (ZESCO United), Owen Mwamba (Mufulira Wanderers), Zachariah Chilongoshi (NAPSA Stars).

Midfielders; Dickson Chapa (NAPSA Stars), Frederick Mulambia, Austin Muwowo (both Power Dynamos), Abraham Siankombo, Kelvin Kapumbu, David Simukonda (All ZESCO United), Owen Tembo (Power Dynamos), Saddam Yusuf Phiri (Red Arrows).
