CAF CAF Debunks Rumours Of Relocating Headquarters To Morocco

The African football governing body has denied allegations that it is planning to relocate its headquarters from Cairo to Rabat, Morocco.

For numerous years, there have been talks of a probable relocation of the CAF headquarters to Morocco, namely Rabat, where locations have been considered, under the presidency of Malagasy Ahmad Ahmad.

After signing a 10-year agreement in 2020 to host the CAF headquarters in Cairo, the organisation will continue to conduct its activities on-site.

According to reports, Egypt has donated CAF approximately 20 hectares of land, allowing the pan-African agency to establish a completely new headquarters that is larger and more functional to accommodate numerous of the entity’s services.

CAF will leave Cairo to establish itself further east, with future districts based in the new Egyptian administrative capital, the city of October 6.

It is located in the governorate of Giza, around thirty kilometres from Cairo.
