Nigeria Ayinde Disappointed To Miss Paris Olympics Game

Rosengard midfielder Halimatu Ayinde expressed disappointment that she will miss this month’s Paris 2024 Olympics with the Super Falcons owing to injury.

The three-time WAFCON winner had a knee injury before arriving in camp for players, and her club confirmed that she will not be joining the national squad.

The Kaduna-born star just returned from injury setbacks following the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, but she will now be sidelined for another stint.

“With a heavy heart, I announce I won’t be part of the Super Falcons for the Olympics.

“I’m deeply grateful to FC Rosengård and my teammates for their support and love. Best of luck to my fellow Super Falcons.

” I’ll be cheering for you and will return stronger. Go Super Falcons.”

Randy Waldrum is set to replace Ayinde with one of the team’s alternate players.

The players are Jumoke Alani (Nasarawa Amazons), Ifeoma Onumonu (Utah Royals, USA), Gift Monday (Costa Adeje Tenerife Egatesa, Spain), and Morufa Ademola (Rivers Angels).
