The 2024-2025 CAF Interclub (Champions League and Confederation Cup) preliminary round draw will be held in Cairo, Egypt today at 12:00 GMT with 15 clubs across the continent exempted from this first round.
Confederation of African Football (CAF) based on the clubs’ performances in the previous tournaments and in their respective leagues to make the ranking.
After last season’s campaign, five clubs are exempted from the CAF Champions League preliminary round which are Al Ahly (Egypt), Esperance Tunis (Tunisia), Mameloi Sundowns (South Africa), TP Mazembe (DR Congo) and Angola’s Petroleous.
In CAF Confederation Cup, ten clubs namely USMA Algiers (Algeria), Asec Mimosas (Cote d’Ivoire), Stade Malien (Mali), El Masry and Zamalek (Egypt), Simba (Tanzania), Sekhukhune (South Africa), RS Berkane (Morocco), AS Vita and FC Lupopa (DR Congo) are exempted from the preliminary round.
