The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is preparing for a two-way struggle with its Egyptian equivalent for Hervé Renard’s services as new head coach of the Super Eagles and Pharaohs, respectively.
The NFF, like Egypt, has made an offer of €2 million a year (approximately ₦3,416,682,810 billion) for the Frenchman who has expressed his wish to leave the France women’s football team after the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Recall that Nigeria, a three-time AFCON champion, is now without a head coach after Finidi George resigned following a spate of dismal losses in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Renard has recently chosen not to keep his future plans a secret.
Meanwhile, another African team is eagerly monitoring this trend and has already spoken with Saudi Arabia’s previous coach without making an offer.
