Former Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp has revealed his choice in the Messi vs Ronaldo debate over who is the greatest player of all-time (GOAT).
The Argentinean and the Portuguese have been battling for trophies both individually and collective ones for nearly two decades now.
Their careers are a real life lesson even though people continue to compare them.
Since Lionel Messi won the World Cup in Qatar with Argentina, many beleived he ended the GOAT debate that day.
However, Klopp did not wait for his triump over France on December 18, 2022 to name him as the greatest player there has ever been.
“I have one selfie on my smartphone. That’s with Messi. Cristiano was in the room, as well…”, the German gaffer said during a special Q&A at the LFC Foundation Gala dinner premiere in 2018.
“I have just one selfie on my phone with ‘strangers‘ I don‘t know personally: It‘s with Messi. I am a fan, I like a lot of footballers… If you love football, how can you not be a fan of Messi? That‘s impossible”, he further added in an interview with Sky Sports.
