Kakamega Homeboyz have settled for the services of coach Ken Kenyatta ahead of the new 2024/25 Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League season.
Homeboyz chairman Cleophas Shimanyula confirmed the appointment of the former Harambee Stars goalkeeper, who left FC Talanta to sign a one-year renewable contract. “We have contracted Ken (Kenyatta) and he will be in charge of the team for a period of one year,” Shimanyula told People Sports. “We engaged him and he agreed to join us, he will start work immediately.”
Last season, Kenyatta finished in position 15th with Talanta, managing eight wins, 13 draws and 13 defeats. Kenyatta replaced Patrick Odhiambo, whom according to Shimanyula was allowed to leave the Kakamega-based club after tendering a notice on the same.

Odhiambo is rumoured to be heading to KCB to replace Bernard Mwalala, who left the Bankers at the end of last season after guiding them to the final of the domestic Mozzart Bet FKF Cup where they lost 8-7 on penalties to Kenya Police.
“We reached an agreement to let Odhiambo leave, he had one-year still left on his deal but he requested to terminate it, we wish him well in his next move, we have now handed Kenyatta the team, and we hope he will give us the result we want next season,” said Shimanyula.
Homeboyz will begin their league campaign against promoted side Mara United at Awendo Green Stadium on August 25.
