Kaba Diawara is no longer the coach of the Guinean national team. He was dismissed by the Guinean Football Federation after a disappointing performance by the Syli U23 at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. This dismissal comes after three defeats in the Olympic matches.
The lack of results led to this decision, Kaba Diawara having accumulated criticism. As coach, he led the team to the Olympics without achieving the expected results. The Guinean Federation responded by replacing Diawara with a provisional board.
For the period until November 2024, Michel Dussuyer will lead this board. Charles Paquile will take the position of coach and Souleymane Camara will be his assistant. Under Diawara’s leadership, Guinea participated in two African Cup of Nations and reached the quarter-finals of the 2024 AFCON.
